FAQ — Wild Paws Adventures Co.

Question 1

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Reach out through our booking page or contact form to schedule a free meet-and-greet. We'll introduce your dog to the pack in a calm, controlled setting to make sure it's a great fit for everyone.

Question 2

Is there a meet-and-greet before the first walk?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely! We'll bring your dog out on a Monday to meet a small pack so we can judge temperament and ensure they're a good fit for group walks. This low-key introduction lets your pup get comfortable with the guide and a few pack members before joining the full group.

Question 3

What areas of Ottawa do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We currently serve Ottawa and the surrounding area. Contact us to confirm whether your neighbourhood falls within our service zone — we're always looking to expand our reach.

Question 4

How do I book a walk or boarding stay?

Accepted Answer

Use the Book a Walk page to submit a request with your dog's details and preferred schedule. We'll follow up within 24 hours to confirm availability and next steps.

Question 5

Is my dog a good fit for pack walks?

Accepted Answer

Pack walks are best suited for friendly, social dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs. Dogs with a history of aggression or extreme anxiety may not be a good fit — we'll assess this honestly during the meet-and-greet so there are no surprises.

Question 6

How many dogs are in a pack?

Accepted Answer

Our packs range from 4 to 13 dogs depending on the day. Every dog is assessed during the meet-and-greet to ensure the group dynamic stays safe, social, and fun for everyone.

Question 7

Are the walks on-leash or off-leash?

Accepted Answer

Walks take place in private fenced parks where dogs can run freely off-leash in a safe, enclosed environment. Dogs are leashed during transit to and from the park.

Question 8

Can puppies join the pack?

Accepted Answer

Puppies are welcome once they've completed their full vaccination series (typically around 16 weeks). We'll confirm vaccination status at the meet-and-greet.

Question 9

What vaccinations are required?

Accepted Answer

All dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations: rabies, distemper/parvovirus (DHPP), and Bordetella (kennel cough). Proof of vaccination is required before the first walk.

Question 10

Do you walk in bad weather?

Accepted Answer

We walk rain or shine — dogs need exercise regardless of the forecast! In cases of extreme weather such as severe thunderstorms, extreme cold warnings, or dangerous ice conditions, we'll notify you in advance and reschedule at no charge.

Question 11

What happens if my dog gets injured on a walk?

Accepted Answer

Your dog's safety is our top priority. In the event of an injury, we'll administer basic first aid, contact you immediately, and transport your dog to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic if needed. We carry a first-aid kit on every walk.

Question 12

Are you insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Wild Paws Adventures carries full liability insurance for all walks and boarding stays, giving you peace of mind every time your dog is in our care.

Question 13

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) may be charged a cancellation fee. We understand life happens — just reach out and we'll do our best to work with you.

Question 14

Do you offer discounts for multiple dogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes — if you have more than one dog joining the pack, contact us for multi-dog pricing. We're happy to work out a package that makes sense for your family.

Question 15

Are taxes included in your prices?

Accepted Answer

Prices listed on our pricing page do not include applicable taxes. HST will be added at checkout where required.

Question 16

What is included in overnight boarding?

Accepted Answer

Overnight boarding includes a safe, home-like environment, feeding (using your dog's own food), walks, playtime, and lots of attention. Your dog stays with us — not in a kennel — so they feel right at home.
